How do I make a play area with sand ?

I would like to create a play area with sand for my children,but I have ano I deal for be ginning(10fx10f)(How to prepair for underground,base,and what kind of matterial touse befor put play sand on it...Thank for your detail help building it

In my opinion to make an area with sand that you will not have to worry about I would do the following. Stake off the area you want. Then dig the area out about 8 inches deep. Place a liner in the area so that weeds can not grow through it. Along the edge of the pit area then build it up with landscape timbers about three high. This will give you a pit about 16 inches deep. Then fill it in with a good quality sand. This should give you the final result of a nice sand box with little maintenance which is still attractive in your yard.

You can buy an special PVC liner, dig out the area you need to and make sure the sides are sloping then lay sand as an base about 3" or so then lay your liner down and cut to size if need be, remember you need to use play pit sand.
