DOES ANy ONE KNOW HOW tO CROCHEt??

I would find someone in your area that's good at crocheting and learn from them. If you can't find anyone, see if there's a homemakers group you can contact and see if there's someone in that group who would be willing to teach you. Otherwise, there might be a class at your local tech school that offers night classes. Ask your librarian if there are any videos that teach crochet, or if she knows someone who can teach you. If you go to church, ask someone there. There's always some little old lady who would just love to pass on her craft to someone else. And they are the most patient too. I think I would start with a scarf & hat over a sweater. You need to have several projects done before attempting a sweater. Don't get discouraged. I crocheted the same sweater 3 times before I got it right! And I've been doing this for a number of years. I still tear whole projects apart because they just don't look right. Then, I start over, or start something else. Have fun. <*)))><

A lot of community colleges offer crochet and also crafts stores and fabric stores.

It is not that hard. Just takes practice. Start with a scarf or something to get the hang of it. It is just sticking the hook thru the loop, looping the the free yarn around the hook and then pulling the hook back through. When you have made a chain long enough to go around( for the sweater) just hook into the first loop and use those loops to continue.By the time you get to the sleeves you should have it figured out. I would suggest bying a pattern for the sweater though, makes it a wholelot easier.
Learning to crochet is a hands on experience. It is not something I can just explain to you verbally. Since you are learning, you may be experiencing frustration right now but stick to it. You will develop your own method for holding the yarn and following a pattern. A sweater may be to hard to start with. Make him a scarf once you have mastered that make a hat etc.... Soon you will have the skills to make a sweater.
Start with your public library, they have tons of books to help you get started. And yes, a scarf is a great beginners project, but so is making squares. And when you're done, just sew them together and you have a blanket, sweater, scarf, etc.
Hope this helps. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

I learned to crochet by first taking classes at AC Moore store. I believe they all have the classes, just check with their website and find the closest one to you and see if they have a class there.
