How to method a Shingle Roof?




Answers:    length X width (add a ft to the measurements) + 1 sq for every 100' of ridge/hip boater needed (unless using metal ridge vents). 1 sq = 100 sq ft. Remember it's better to have too much than not ample. You can return the unopened bundles.
Measure roof length and width later X 2 for both sides if a it is a gable roof. If the roof is more complex you need to determine the nouns of each article, Add these together and divide by 100. This will give you the number of squares contained by the roof. Shingle squares are 3 bundles. Cedar shingles are 4 bundles.
