How do I polish Marble that have sun & precipitation desecrate?

The marble has be sitting in the sun and rainfall all summer. It is presently dull, but still smooth to the touch. Various methods have not worked. Tried the marble cleaner and polish chemicals, they did zilch. Then I tried various grain of sandpaper on a power sander followed by fine steal wool and soap, did nothing as economically.

The marble is smooth to touch, I just want it to enjoy that glossy shinny finish again. What else can I do? How nearly a clear coat for that glossy finish?

as you would start in beside 400 wet minimum and work your course up to 2000 wet next to a flat hard phenolic 4" to 5" wad mounted a VRPM rotary disc sander ( like a Metabo ), not an orbital sander
this will impart the stone a semi shine
