Answers: Most material yard carry a pre-mixed mortar mix surrounded by bags. This stuff is great, lately add dampen.
Apply a scratch coat near a notched trowell over your mesh.
Wait at least soon for it to become strong and rigid enough to support the stone.
Spread your stone out wager on side up and moisten the stone and wall.
Trowel some mud on the wall, trowell some mud on the back of the stone and press it onto the wall. Some guys prefer "thinset" mortar for this step. You can stick shims or wedge into the joint to support it stay in place.
At work we own one man butter the brick and hand it to the mason to place. This keep things moving along pretty fast.
Rake out the joint, clean the stone and afterwards grout. A grout bag (available at the objects yard) really helps you hang on to it clean.
A bucket of verbs water and a sponge are prominent, even the best mason gets a touch mud on the stone.
Be patient, a moment or two practice and you should get it down. If it's out of commission you can remove the stone, wash it and try again untill you take it.
good luck
