Attic insulation?
1. How much insulation should I have above my ceiling?
2. Should you insulate between the studs on the roof too? If so, how much?
3. When you put insulation surrounded by above the ceiling, can you simply cut it and lay it in place or should you staple it within place?

Answers: Here the building department requires R30, Michigan they probably want more. But going above the requirements is better. I suppose nearby is a cost-benefit curve, where if you insulate more than obligation, it costs more than energy nest egg. I'd have no perception where that rank is. But I'd say overdo it a bit.
But you insulate the living nouns. Think of it as wrapping a blanket around the living areas. Unless your attic is livable space, then no don't insulate it. So you don't insulate between rafter and gable wall studs. But you do insulate the ceiling of the living space. And that can be batt, blown cellulose. You can do it yourself. One to thing to remember. Don't consent to the insulation get down to the soffit. There are baffle that you staple between the rafters or trusses that keep hold of the insulation from getting down by the soffit and blocking ventilation. If at hand are already baffles, after you don't need to donate more. But if damaged or never installed, install investigational ones. And no you don't need to staple batt down, within fact, that would slaughter the purpose. It should be fluffy, so there are nouns voids.
Be careful where on earth you walk. Step on the ceiling joist or trusses and not directly on drywall. I bet you know that, but an ounce of prevention.
insulation shouldn't progress in the roof as it just keeps the grill in the Attic/loft it should travel on the floor of the loft so it Will keep the rooms below heat
