What nature of wood do you use to brand name wooden tikis near? My husband requests to try to formulate one himself. What wood

I want to get this for him since this friday and just wondering what genus of wood to get? I hope it is not too expensive.

Answers:    Not to be rude, but the first answerer is clearly not a wood worker. Bamboo is a hollow grass, not a tree (i.e. it is not wood) Authentic tikis are made out of multiple tropical woods-Koa being one. They are also frequently made from palm, coconut, etc. I suggest a semi-hard wood that can be carved. Maybe redwood!
I would use rattan. I am not sure how much it costs or how available it is. That might depend on your area.
