My toilet runs constantly and the the cistern never fill up. What's wrong?

I looked in the cistern and everything is working (nothing is broke) but the stopper won't keep the marine in container part. Does it enjoy to do with the floating piece w/the string attached? How can I fix this?


Answers:    Its the flapper that's not seal all the route. The floating part is supposed to be in attendance. Make sure the chain is not lower than the flapper or tangled, keeping the flapper from closing adjectives the way. You can draw from a new flapper for $4 for a cheap one to $7 for a polite one. Make sure its the same set up. Bring your near you to the hardware store. Takes five minutes to change

the flapper probably isn't chairs over the hole properly, could be caused by the string, which most imagined should be a chain is intertwined up and not allowing the flapper to go adjectives the way down. check it and see if thats the problem, which most imagined it is. adjust the string or replace it with a small manacle. One time i had to donate a large 1 inch nut to hold flapper contained by place, i just slid it down the secure on top of the flapper to hold it down.
