whats the best way to remove linoleum and the adhesive?

when I started to remove the linoleum the adhesive stays put on the concrete.

Answers:
go to any home improvement store and get a floor scraper and some jasco adhesive remover, i recommend going to home depot only cause thats where i work and flooring is my department. once you scrape up the old flooring use a paintbrush and spread the adhesive remover over the remaining adhesive on the floor, let it sit for about 15 minutes and it should scrape right off, its gonna be time consuming, but in the long run its worth it

Heat it with a hair dryer or a heat gun. While it is warm use a wide putty knife to get under it and slowly with constant pressure push the warm glue to help release it. It's a SLOW process but is the most effective way to get it done. Good Luck

You might make a trip to the local thrift store and get several old hair dryers so you can heat a larger area at a time.
Use a heat gun. The only thing that is going to work without backbreaking labor. And also invest a few bucks in an actual heat gun. They tend to have settings that start at 650 degrees and go up from there. A hair dryer is okay, but it will take what seems like forever.
The glue can usually be removed with hot water and a putty knife. If this does not work they sell an adhesive remover at all home stores, but it is putrid. Have the windows open and the neighbors windows open ( just in case)! Good Luck
go to Wal mart and get some Goof Off. The stuff is great for a lot of uses, just dont smoke around it. wash with soap and water afterwards.
