What type of chalice do I use for desk top??
Answers: 1/4" clear annealed seamed (the edges wont be sharp if you specify its for a top)
thats only just plain old cup. they can even drill holes for cords if you need.
plexiglass will score over time and will not clean confidently. you're never supposed to use glass cleaner on it.
plexiglass works fine if you're going to consent to kids use the desk and are willing to put up beside a dull surface.
also , glass is usually cheaper
dont use temper glass, it may work very well on patios since it breaks contained by smaller pieces, but on a desk the edges are exposed and it can blow up if bumped with anything metal (including rings!)
i would stir with a safekeeping glass, in the order of 1/4 inch thick,
I wouldnt use cup, but maybe a plexi cup? Something pretty thick, Id be afraid of it breaking or cracking or anything close to that, that could harm children or pets
Plexiglass last longer, if there's a well underneath the glass, resembling a recess. I used plexiglass on a coffee table resembling that, but it scratches too effortlessly. I have 1/4 inch plate cup on a table top. It wanted to slide around, but where on earth I bought the glass & have it cut, they gave me some clear plastic discs which bump up it off the table a moment ago far enough to stuff papers etc. underneath the galss, and holds it in place too.
We did this exact same piece and used plexi glass. It looks great and you don't enjoy to worry give or take a few breaking it!
