need help with black water snakes ns?
if theres 1 theres more, got salt,moth balls,lime down therei just can have a heart attack

Did you know that black snakes actually are immune to rattle snake venom and kill rattle snakes? Well, anyway they tend to live of rodents so throw a couple of mousetraps down there to kill off their food supply. I heard somewhere that snakes don't like traveling over sharp rocks. I don't know if that helps any. Several people will swear to you up and down that cats keep the mice away. Snakes like to live in damp places, so many invest in a dehumidifier for the basement. Keep the lights on, snakes like it dark. Someone on a farm told me that chickens eat snakes, but I don't think you want a chicken in your basement. Make sure there are no piles of rocks or lumber that the snake can live in. SNAKES CAN'T SMELL, so forget going down that line of options. Good Luck Anyway.

SteefyAnne...You know absolutely nothing of snakes! They thrive on sharp rocks to help shed their skin;they eat chickens;they smell with their tongue and see with their "pits". To answer your question though there is only one way to permanently get rid or snakes....Move! though there is a few exceptions snakes do not habitate in temps. avr. 60 deg. cel. Yes if you kill one there are more,but they are not rodents,they only migrate to a food source, if there is no food they move on.So get rid of the rodents ( like that is possible) then you will be rid of the snakes. For the most part as scary as they seem snakes really are mans best Friend. Those electric sonic devices are a joke! Snakes do not hear, they feel vibrations. The snakes will not bother you as long as you do not corner them or attack them. Be watchful for an arrow head shaped head that is a sign of venomous but not aggressive. So basically leave them alone and they will leave you alone. I am an Herptoculterist and have raised snakes for almost ten yrs. I have a countless amount of indexes to back up my statements.Good Luck
