What's the Best Screen for A Screened Porch - and what are other considerations?

We are building a screened porch. It will be entered through french doors. We'd like to keep the view from inside the house through those french doors as clear as possible.

What is the best choice of screen to maintain view. Is there a visibility rating system?

What are other important considerations for choosing screen for a completely new screened porch and how would you address them?

Stairs to yard just good sense or design nuisance?

I haven't been able to find any good books with design ideas for screened porch.

Because of a huge oak that is 10 feet from the back of our house, about three feet over from the right side of the french door, i need to have the right side wall of the porch run so that it will cross diagonally in front of the french doors - tho they will, of course, still fully open. The right wall should be about 18 feet long. What are the implications for roof design?

Answers:
No idea how much they cost, but I have this page bookmarked for the day we get round to building a screened porch. I love the idea of being able to open the screens so easily. This way when its not too buggy out you get the good views.
Stairs are useful and expand the use of the porch - if you are having a party all the food / drink can be kept in the shade of the porch etc.
