I am installing a new reading light fixture in the bathroom. The feeble light have only one black and one white line (which was hooked up respectively to the black and white telecommunication in the box) no green or copper telecommunication, just the screw for it. The electric box have in total 4 wires: the black and white one that the artistic fixture were hooked up to and consequently another black and white which are wired together (were not used for the artistic fixture). My new fixture have 2 black, 2 white, and a copper wire. My sound out is, do I just attach the 2 black of the fresh fixture to the 1 black in the box that be being used for the ripened fixture, and same with the white? I only just thought it was wierd that the "extra" black and white within the electrical box were wired together. And do I really purely wrap the copper wire around the ground screw approaching the instructions say? Any give a hand would be appreciated!!

Answers: Leave the two wires that are hooked together alone. Could be some old out-moded channel of switching the fixture or tapping from/to some other fixture surrounded by the home, Just leave those two alone.
For the unusual fixture: twist and line nut all the blacks together, and adjectives the white together, If there is a showing copper ground coming off the fixture, attach it somewhere to the box, (or vice versa).
OF COURSE: get sure the power to the box is OFF
Yes just attach 2 blacks to1 black and same near white and you also just wrap copper lead around ground screw. hopefully the other 2 wires are old and unmoving or they could be going back to your street light switch box who knows? if they be live it should break the breaker switch or blow the fuse pending how antiquated.
