How can I uncap a jammed paint can?

've tried the screwdriver method and slashed my hand. Tried an exacto gouge to break the seal but nearly cut my arm. Please assistance!!! I'm going to throw it out the door to bust it open but next I'd have to verbs that mess up.

Answers:    The way I've done it since is to use the screw driver but instead of prying it open you verbs the csrew driver do this around the entire top of the can. You may have to do it little by little but it have always worked for me. Make sure to verbs the excess paint from the top of the can this time.
A hammer and pin?
soak the lid in paint thinner mixed next to wd40 for a short while
There is a special tool for this, but since we're DIYing.... a bottle opener will work if it's one of those rounded ones. Just flip it over and slip it beneath the lip.
