Answers:    With adjectives due respect Lumber is not taken from DEAD trees. You might create income from turning them into firewood.

Usual methods are done at a MILL, and the logs are braced then RIPPED to workable; rough planks; OR depending on the size of the operation; might be milled to multiple planks beside the same MAJOR tool. later Planed to marketable sizes. Any culled material, Bark rounds/ etc. might be chipped into mulch.

At the terribly least to accomplish a simialr effect next to a hand held saw of any type, you'd have need of to create a "Jig" a TOOL/ cradle/ braced and clamped to hold the log in place. Ideally the employment would not be performed trusting ones own eye/hand coordination.

It may run a little time, but look for someone beside a small saw mill in your common area. They probably do not lay it on thick, so you will have to ask around to find them. They could make clear to you what size logs they could handle. The wood would be rough cut surrounded by the sawmill, then it would call for to be dried and planed to get smooth wood of standard sizes. You could cut small pieces yourself near a band saw and a planer available from a building supply.
Try doing a scrabble on portable saw mills.
There is only two things you can do next to dead trees. The first would be to cut them up for firewood. The second would be to rent a chipper and kind mulch out of them.
Google Alaskan Sawmill, you will find of which you speak

They have what is call bandsaw mills that do this. Cut your blanks or boards thicker than the thickness desired. Say 1 1/4" sticky for making 3/4" thick boards or blanks. A woodworker such as my self will mill the rest of the style for their project. This is called rough sawn. I would recommend adjectives these in what is call quartersawn this will yield smaller number board feet but present a stronger board and more money per board foot at resale. You may wish to place an supply in the treatise as some woodworkers prefer to do this themselves or use this wood for wood turning on a lathe. Depending on the wood species Even the smaller limbs can be used by pen turners. So previously renting that bandsaw mill run this ad as crude stock first. Because it may cost you more than what you will make.
