How long do bricks need to dry before painting?

I'm painting a brick house two coats with a primer first but we are expecting rain in the area.How long should i let it dry before i paint?

The sun should be exposed to it for at least 2 hours...since its already primed it should be safe to paint...make sure you touch the primed bricks for dryness.
