I just bought it and it's much firmer than the one I tried at the store. I want to verbs it, but I don't want to sleep on it for years for it to be soft. (i.e. I want it soft asap)

I suppose you could go to the store and swap it surreptitiously near the demo model.
Your only other option are to sleep on it, get used to it and hang around.
if it's a real tempur pedic pillow i ruminate youre out of luck. ive had mine for approaching 2 years and it still feels as firm as when i first get it
