How do u polish rocks?

i have a friend whose bday is coming up and i no he have a small collection of rocks and i found some that he will like but they involve to be polished. what things could i use that might be in a house (cleaners, fastener buffers, ect.)

Answers:    I have be able to polish some rocks near an empty plastic jar (with a out of harm`s way lid). If you fill the jar in the middle with sand, later add a short time ago enough sea to cover the top of the sand, and add the rock, after you can add the rocks and shake the container for a really long time. As you do this for a few weeks, the rock will be polished. Just hold a friend or two help roll the jar around. Good luck!
You can run to an arts and crafts store and purchase a rock tumbler. They go from close to $20 on up to hundreds of dollars for a good one. More or smaller quantity you put the rock in, and the come out smooth and pretty. Good luck.
