The fan isn't located close at hand the gables, the soffits won't work & I don't relish the idea of going through the roof (Mom of 4, big work & I already own too much to do!) This fan vent near an adjacent to bathroom fan that vent outside through roof(Go figure?) Can I attach a Y type device @ the roof exit & sign up 2 vent tubings - 1 from each bathroom? If not an iota other suggestions?
Answers: It is preferable
to vent the new lover outside of the attic by adding a wye to the existing vent pipe (using duplicate roof jack)
than
exhausting the new vent into the attic.
It won't be the ruin of the world in any case
but why vent moisture into the attic
when it can be avoided?
Just be constant both vent fans own back draft dampers...
You should own a backdraft damper (flapper) at the outlets of each follower. Verify that they're there and you can wye the fan together. Not the prefered set up, but it's better than venting moist nouns directly into the attic.
