How do I restore your health My 3-piece Sectional Sofa?

I have a ancient, ugly sectional sofa beside rips and holes. I can not afford a slipcover. I want to recover it myslef, however I enjoy never sewn anything in my vivacity. Are there any books or websites that enjoy how-to instructions on recovering it? I thought about basically getting a LOT of fabric. . and draping it/pinning it. But I'd approaching some instructions. PLEASE HELP. My future mother-in-law is coming to stay next to us for a month. . and i want my house to look nice!


Answers:    This is what I did to mine. I bought 3 king sized top sheets, they can be the inexpensive kind. I preferred to carry colored ones. Drape them over the secotional as it stands. On the arm rest is where you will want the top of sheet & verbs till you get to the other side. Now, if you buy something beside prints or a design on them, make sure you place the design fragment down. Arrange the sheets to over lap respectively other about 3 to 4 inches, making sure in that is plenty of over lap on any end(this will give you some extra tuck within fabric). Also you will want to push them in for a time in the chairs area. Pin the 2 inner overlapped parts together from front to rear.
Carefully remove the sheets when you are done You will want to sew the over lap areas. Follow what you enjoy done with the pins. Now once you own sewed it turn it inside out and place it on the sectional. Tuck in the couch. If you hold problems with it comming out, consequently cut some PVC pipe(about 1/2") & push the pipe with the sheet. It help it stay in place rather better.
This is inexpensive & it serves the purpose. I still have mine that I made 3 years ago. Plus it is washable. I hope this help.

I have my sofa done and it cost way more than a slipcover. Fabric is at smallest $15/yard for the decent stuff that will ending and you need lots of stuff for a sofa. Then there's all the other supplies (tacks, cushions, foam, thread, etc.)

There are ways to create your own slipcover by using textile or even sheets, but I'm not sure on exaclty how you do it. You can try this site http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_fabrics_slip... or do a google search yourself.

As to your adjectives MIL coming, if she doesn't mind you living with her son back the wedding afterwards she shouldn't mind too much that you have an elder sofa.

If you really hate your sofa afterwards look at local consignment shops or thrift stores where you might be capable of find a nicer one.
