How can I make Bondo (car filler)more liquid so I can pour and mold it?
Answers:
use a general purpose paint thinner but not too much as long as it has hardener in the filler it will still dry just will take longer or you could fiberglass it with a fiberglass kit
they come with fiberglass sheets ,resin, catalist and can be purchased from auto shops is easy to use and will look alot neater and professional also fiberglass is alot lighter than body filler

You could us less hardener, but why dont you pick up some fiberglass resin and cloth and use it. Same section as the bondo in Autozone anyway. and it can be worked longer. Works pretty good
I've had to fix my canoe SEVERAL times. Bondo is heavy and it doesn't do the job. If it's really bad and wood,"P C WOODY"has a bunch of good products to stop the rot before you repair it.
If fiber glass then sand the area with 80 grit, get rid of fractures and lifted or separated glass even if it makes holes. Lay plastic on one side for a mold,Some times I use Glad Cling Wrap. Reinforce it with card board. Use fiber glass cloth and matt.
Or just use Resin instead of Bondo.
I suggest the west system Check out their site.
Try using a liquid fiberglass resin rather than Bondo.
You will be able to pour it into a mold and control the setting time by adjusting the amount of hardener you add.
You will find it at any good marine supply outlet.

the acryllic resin in bondo is the same type as fibreglass resin so i'd use that to dilute it, using paint thinners can cause the cured bondo to shrink and pull away from the fibreglass days or weeks later.
