If you are making the liquid up from a powder, just use less water/more powder. PVA woodglue might be worth a try.

As far as I know you can use any thickener you would use for cooking like flour or corn starch, mix it with a little boiling water to make a paste, then it won't be lumpy and will mix better with the liquid latex.

try using some wall mud you know the kind thats used for tape and bedding and for fixing holes in the wall.or plaster paris.you can even make molds out of plaster paris. flour and water is not a thickening agent,cornstarch is!
