How do I install a wall mount light fixture?

Remove the old strap. your new fixture should come with a new one. If not just go to the hardware store and get one. They are acually 2 straps riveted toghther in the middle so one can be mounted to the box, the other rotated sideways so you can install the new light.

If not you need to run a light switch from the panel to where you want the switch to be .Then you have to fish a wire in the wall to where the light is going to be .put in the wall a light box for the wire connections and hang the light Black wire to black white to white or might be red and green to ground or green wire might also just be copper.
