I have need of a facade plate for my lathe.?
Answers: An "old" lathe is a relative possession. Like it could be 20 to 80 years old? Anyway, I would do a google scour to see if the manufacturer is still around and if they are, email them near your model number. Ask if they have a faceplate that will interchange next to your machine. If they don't, try ebay or even a gadget shop to have one built for your lathe. The correct thing more or less having one built, is you can set your own specifications and own exactly what you want!
Your best option would be to walk online, try to find the manufacture. If you cannot walk through the manufacture afterwards you best option would be to dance to some of the woodworking websites out there similar to http://woodmagazine.com/wood/. Hopefully they can find what your looking for or something compatible.
It sounds to me like you own a lathe that was purpose built to do one specific career. I think your individual hope would be a local machine shop who might be capable of make you something to fit.
If you intend to do this as a hobby I would buy another lathe.
