Has anyone ever captured a swarm of honey bees?
Answers:
I know the answer to this one because we had honey bees. First you have to capture the queen and put her in the box. Once she is there the other bees will follow.
If you do not know what the queen looks like, put down a white sheet and put your beehive on it. Take a pot and spoon and very evenly tap on it and the bees will settle around the box. Hopefully the queen will go in. Once they start settling , do not distrub them. Let them be ( a little play on words there) and they hopefully will move in.,
By the way , bees swarming will not sting. Once they are in the hive, wear protective clothing.
This is not a joke , we got many swarms from trees and houses this way .

best if you have some bees wax from a bees hive wilst they are swarming they are fairly plasid put on some gloves and a bees vail, take hold of the main ball if there on a branch cut the peice off, that there on and shake it over the box, best to use a propper bees hive box then replace the lid on the box and leave then untill dark you will find by then they will have all gone in then you can seal the box and move to knew location,or contact a bee keeper he will most likly come collect them,i use to do this for people all the time,
