When you contact the "Call before you dig" people before you do dig and they spray "NO BST", what's it mean?

I am about to dig a trench to bury an electrical line to my storage building in the back of my yard, and 'NO BST' was sprayed on my lawn in the spot I am thinking about digging up.

Answers:
I would say BST is the initials of one of you local utilities which was called out to mark their underground lines and "NO BST" means BST has no lines there. Also the color of the writing will tell you what utility it is, such as red is for electrical, orange is for phones, etc, and green is for sewer & drain lines.

But call the "Call before you dig" people back to confirm.

Good luck,
Bruce

Other answers:
Call them back and ask them.
Call them back and ask them.
It may refer to a local utility. Where do you live?
It means nothings buried they would put a flag if there was a line. I would call first just to make sure no matter what you hear.
Nothing is buried at that location. B is Burial, ST is the service in question, generally there is a flag nearby with the service provider like Sewer, Gas, Electrical or Phone.

If in doubt check with the hotline they can provide details on the locations..
It's the burial site of Jimmy Hoffa. Give em a call before you dig.
