What will happen if I use external paint on my bedroom walls?
Answers:
I read that exterior paints can contain higher concentrations of certain chemicals that may make them unsafe to use in an enclosed interior space.
It may even state that on the paint can label.
You can get decent interior paint for about 7$ a gal. at Walmart, so it doesn't seem worth the risk to me.
Here's a blurb from a paint company website:
"Exterior paint is not durable for inside use. It may chalk excessively and/or the paint would not stick to the surface if it needs to be repainted. Exterior paint also contains mildewsides/fungicides that may smell when there is high humidity. It can even pose a health hazard due to the greater concentration of these mildewsides that are not normally used inside. Exterior paint used indoors may also worsen allergies. "

It will never suffer from sun damage and your bedroom walls will be fine.

It cost a little more but is a lot tougher. Don't use gloss, use a flat. Latex is best and is water clean up.
It will be an internal application. Just make sure you do not put latex over oil base paint> it peels. You can put oil base over latex. Exterior paint has more pigmant, costs more and is usually oil base if its a good paint.
