I have a Craftsman table saw. When I cut dado's with my saw it slows down to a crawl. I heard this is normal
Answers:
Slow down, skippy, or they may be calling you
nubby. Sounds like you're feeding too fast.
Nice and easy does her, steady as she goes,
go slow, Joe.
Back off before the blades bind to a crawl.
You may also want to try cutting your dadoes in two
passes. Set up your fence to make slightly more than
half the width desired in one pass, then reset to make
final cut.
You may also work up a jig to use if you need to cut lots of
the same, so you don't have to reposition your fence.
Other answers:
Yur removing a lot of wood, so it will slow down a bit.

I have a craftsman 10" 3 amp mod# 137.218240 jobsite table saw. I have put dado blades in it and other than being to light on the folding stand, it did an amazing job. It is normal for saws to slow down a little depending on the width of the dado but NOT to a crawl. If yours matches or exceeds mine I would take it have it serviced (hopefully you bought the extended warranty and can exchange it).
it's not the size of the table but the moitor! check your horses,, also as stated make at least three passes raising the bit 1/3 on each pass,, you may burn the motor or bust a belt if so equiped!
wood working should be fun and relaxing so have fun and relax!
