Novice plasterer?

Do you think someone who have never plastered a wall before could plaster it accurate enough to merely paint over when its dried?

Answers:    i did,,look it goes resembling this ..

1. prime wall with primer.. sand first if requirement to

2. make sure you hold a GOOD trowel.

3. mix plaster with a drill & stride in a sizeable bucket...till it looks like cream cheese.

5. apply even on your wall .

6. immediately heres the secret to a smooth wall...(get yourself a apt water sprayer)....save spraying the applied plaster with sea ..say every 8 minutes next trowel gently...you`ll know how to see if there are any humps or lumps...if so trowel them gentelly...repeat process till youre blissful with the finnish...dutiful luck...& remember persevierence is the name of the spectator sport....

keep troweling after every time you spray it next to LOTS of water...the more you trowel it the better it looks.
no,not unless you want the mountain breadth look
Fraid not.
Since it takes a few years for an apprentice plasterer, working for 38 hours a week, at least possible 3-4 years to attain that level of skill, how are you going to do it on a first try. Get a plasterer within and do the job right!

IF you do contribute it a try, use a float, not a trowel as above post suggests!!
hi ive been plastering for over 35years enjoy ago first seal wall beside pva or similar[ i assume you are just going to skim ? if so ] mix plaster to a creamy consistent apply near a hawk and trowel start from top left dance along and down if first coat is rough let it dry slightly after run trowel over to flatten then apply a second coat, tolerate dry slightly and trowel flat, let dry a bit more after splash with marine using a brush, and trowel smooth , once smooth to your satisfaction stop ,dont over trowel this would formulate it shiny and the paint wont stick to it ,remember take your time and dont rush, remember two coats not one, [you can do it] if your not sunny with it after two coats tolerate wall dry re -pva and have another stir ,good luck.
Nope, and you aren't even Italian.
in good health ive read some of your replies and im feeling fairly flattered and big headed at the moment,im not a plasterer and ive re-skimmed my kitchen walls, and at hand as smooth as a peach, when i skimmed them,i waited a few minutes next went over them within a circular motion with a humid sponge, and jobs a accurate un. if you attempt it,start at the top of your walls, and work downwards...plaster stretches ,and it will make the brief a lot easier.
