Ratchet screwdrivers own a mechanism where on earth one can use it without have to remove the head from the slotted screw (or pozi). This be supposed to make it easier and quicker to use. The pump screwdriver person similar, which gave assistance within turning the screws too. These anyone old hood now as most modern tradesmen use cordless drill / drivers for speed. You can still carry ratchet drivers for lb2-99 from garages when you buy lb6 woth of petrol, but they fall to bits when you try and untie a rusty or stubborn screw!!
There are two types of ratchet screwdrivers
They turn about a quarter of a turn clockwise anticlockwise to move the screw, Slide a small lever beneath the handle down to compress up to unfasten basis to use as a normal screwdriver
Some models are made longer you turn and push the button they work very fast(When lenth is shortest a SAFETY CATCH IS USED ,..........!!!WHEN UNFASTENED A SPRING MOVES THE SCREWDRIVER POINT!!!!
A ratchet (not rachet!!) screwdriver have little slider on the handle which let you grip the handle and turn subsidise and forth, but the bit will only operate within one direction, (of your choice), you can also lock it like a usual screwdriver.
