okay so i am putting up a counter (no bottom selves just the counter). so i want to create for a moment support for it. this is where the math comes contained by. the counter extends out exactly 2 feet, i am placing it three foot off the ground. i want to put in an angeld piece of 2X4 from the wall to the counter for extra support. i figured how long the piece should be but i want to know what angle should i cut the wood so that it can mount flush. i integer if i do a little cosin or sin i can do it but i haven't done that stuff since high-ranking school. please comfort!!
Answers: Whats wrong with devout old 45 degree? you dont have to brand the supports touch the ground, only a stud. besides, most saw have a preset 45 deg. setting, and not doesn`t matter what it is exactly that you need.
All you call for is a 18" piece of wood.
Cut the ends 45° on each pause from outside to inside.
This will mount 1/2 way up on wall and 1/2 instrument into center of counter.
If you cut the board any more than 45degrees in wont support anything so it should be 45 degree in writ for it/them to support the most weight..anything else will be unstable. If this counter top go into a corner you would be better off installing a ledger horizontally on the 2ft side and the rear that way you solitary need one board cut at 45 degree on both ends at the other end of the counter....the brace should be just about 3ft long
