Some other ideas are getting dif. throw pillows for the sofa, get a new rug for the living room, new blanket for your couch, new tablecloth for your dining room table. you said you were painting the house, inside or out? If it is inside try making a radicul change. If it is outside try making a change but less obvious. Good luck with your plans.
