I want to take a shower!?

Please tell me...I put the greenboard in, want to install the 5-piece shower surround tub thingee...do I have to tape/compound seams if it's going to be underneath the plastic wall? If so...quick how-to?

Answers:
no you do not have to tape the joints behind the shower walls.but i would just to get the practice.as for the other joints, web taping works best.add some joint compound, then tape.useing 6 in. putty knife smooth tape, removing excess compound when dry ,sand, then add 2nd coat of compound with 8" blade, dry, sand, and repeat with a 12" blade.it takes a while to get it down, but what better wayu to learn then to get your hands dirty.youll do fine. good luck

p.s.
there is a certain sand paper that u use for compound.just ask at you local hardware store.
