is it hard to build your own wardrobes?
Answers:
How hard depends on how hard you want to make it on yourself.
Measure the depth of a standard closet and see it is the depth of an older style book case. Now go to a thrift store and look for old book cases and a matching dresser. A few doors, a closet dowel and you have an armoire.
Lots of thrift shops and resale consignment shops are seeing those entertainment armoires showing up. Replace the back if you want to (where the cords went out) add a closet dowel from the hardware store and you have a wardrobe.
A little paint or stain and why start from scratch if the materials (good hard wood) are more expensive than the used or repurposed furniture.
Also look for cabinet makers, they sometimes have mismeasured units they mark down and sell.
