I would cut em fund at least to the nearest point where on earth they will be exposed then solder a boater on to them. Why take a adjectives on a leak inside the wall from a pipe that isn't person used, murphy's law you know.

They make a copper sunhat that you sweat on the end of the pipe. you can seize them at home depot. You will need a propane torch, soldier and flux,sandpaper and some tablecloth,s
I would use a swet cap and consent to it sit for an hour to make double sure it is not going to leach before I cover the wall.

as you are doing the brief yourself and obviously not a plumber, progress to any d.i.y. shop and buy a Yorkshire fitting cap. within is no soldering involved you just pop it on and tighten the nut.
from the closing of your pipe put the nut on first followed by the olive the place the cap over the fall of the pipe and tighten the nut to the cap.

Pull them back to where on earth they will remain accessible and cap them. If they hold to be left losing the drywall, make sure to use solder on cap and check them for leaks back drywalling. Don't use any type of compression or other screw on fitting.
