My bathroom smells like clorine after the shower is used. I recently removed wall paper, put primer and paint.

The drywall was exposed for about a month before I put primer and paint. Any suggestions why the bathroom now smell like clorine?

Perhaps is the the way your water is treated in your city. Have you noticed the smell from your kitchen faucet?

If you have city water, most likely you are smelling the chlorine from the water treatment. It is more noticeable in the shower, because it is hot water and steam which is spreading the smell.
Usually when you "smell chlorine", it is because the chlorine is reacting with other chemicals. Most municipalities use chlorine as a disinfectant. Some use chloramines, which combines chlorine and ammonia. It is not as strong of a disinfectant but maintains a chlorine residual longer in the distribution system.

It could be the chlorine reacting with the chemicals in the paint and should go away. If you don't have an exhaust fan in your bathroom, you may want to consider installing one. If you have a shower, you should have a window that opens or an exhaust fan to keep the humidity down and help prevent mold & mildew.

You may want to call the City if it doesn't go away. They may need to adjust chemical dosages or flush the water mains.
Stop peeing in the tub, the chlorination in the water is reacting with the ammonia in the urine and releasing chlorine atoms. If it isn't you then someone is peeing and not rinsing well.
