Wiring a hob & oven?
Answers: It is UNSAFE to wire it directly into the hoary cooker connection point as the fusing (at the board) is too high-ranking.
Look at the rating of the oven. They are usually 3KW (same as a kettle or immersion heater) and should be wired on a 1.5mm heat-resistant flex into a 13-Amp plugtop or fused connection section.
Hobs usually require fusing at 16/20 Amps depending on model.
If you are going to attempt this yourself, and you MAY do so legally provided that you inform Building control beforehand.
beside safety surrounded by mind:
Turn off electrics.
Sink another metal backbox adjoining to cooker connection section (the bit below the worktop). Run 2.5mm twin and earth to this different box from the cooker point, put a socket front/fused connection component on it.
Wire the hob (and the 2.5mm T&E to the new socket) to the cooker nouns unit.
Plug-in or connect the oven to the socket/FCU at the side.
Yeah I did mine close to that with no problem your wall socket for a cooker is deeply higher voltage than the majority sockets. the reason that you didnt receive a wire beside it is that your supposed to be corgi reg now to instal them due to the illustrious power. B+Q or a local hardware store sell the cable but kind sure its the correct wattage cable 13 wont do it go for 21 or something similar to that just beware that this isnt a plug and if your not sure bring back an electrician to do it.
