You can do it if your tool has a zig-zag stitch. Draw the baptize on the material and lock the things in an embroidery hoop if you can. Lower the nurture dogs on the machine, set the stitch span and run the machine slowly while moving the hoop to sew along your drawing...
bobo, have the right idea one and only some machines don't let you drop the nurture dogs. You may have to see if there's an natural way to temporarily remove the nurture dogs.
Check your manual. It may show you how to do monograming - same entry. Practice on a similar scrap of cloth before you do it on your coat.
The above poster is correct, some machines don't hold lowering feed dogs, but you can also cover them by tape down an index card or similar. Have Fun!!
