My boyfriend can't get the trimmer to work..he cranks and cranks but it won't start...what's the problem?

well if its a weed eater trimer , did he mix it with the right amount of gas adn 2 cycle oil , if no oil or to much oil or not enough oil it can cause it not to start , did he cheek the choke , um did he prim it , priming there will be a lil ball lookin gthing that he need to push a few times so that the fuel caould go into that , um the spark plu can be loose or it can be bad , so cheek and male sure its getting spark u can do this by placing the spark plug well hooked to the weed eater agains a metal object and try to start the weed eater and if u see it has spark it may mean its not making good enough contact if no spark get a new one .
if u r calling a lawn mower a trimer well the newer ones need to be primed as well , then they also have a lever that u hold down well u try to start and u continue to hold it down well u mom if u let it go it will stop running untill u hold down and start it again

Bad gas, fouled plug, improper choking.
Did he check the fuel, fuel line, choke, prime the thing? Could be dirt dauber nests or something somewhere in the motor.
Could also be that it is flooded with fuel, the air intake is blocked, a damaged plug lead, blockage in the fuel pipe or a worn out spark plug.
operator error
Trickle some gas/oil mix down the carb, if it starts its the carb, or a broken fuel line, etc. If it doesn't start, make sure the exhaust port is clear and the plug isn't wet with gas.... If thats good.... its low on compression, they need atleast 90psi of compression to run, even then they are a bear to start. If you look through the exhaust port or through the plug hole and see up and down scoring.... might as well throw it away if it was a cheapy to start off with.
