I have a ton of sweetgum balls that fall from several sweetgum trees in our yard. These are a nightmare to pick up, as the only way I have found to get them off the ground is to rake them up and bag them by hand. It is a nightmare.

I bought a power rake attachment for my mower. It looks like a blade but has springs on the end. Then raise my mower deck and power rake the yard into long piles. Then come by with my Garden blower/vac and suck them up

Cut down the trees. Or just leave them, they rot relatively quickly.
Remove the Sweetgum Tree. If you want a sweetgum without the balls, buy a fruitless sweetgum!
