I of late bought a YUCCA Root surrounded by the toothsome produce subdivision. It be coated within wax. Will it grow if I plant it?

We really want some of these plants and they are said to grow wild around here, but we haven't found any.
I own planted Jersalem artichokes from the edible produce subdivision and they grow like crazy.

I remember that when I bought elephant ear bulbs (garden section) they be coated in wax.

What do you surmise? Grow or eat? Yucca..yuch!

Answers:    Don't imply to make toots barmy, but there is such a article as a yucca root. It is used a lot within Mexican and Indian cooking. I never heard of that root toots mentioned. We don't hold a lot of Cuban and PR cooking where on earth I live.Guess we both learned something. :-) I would cut bad a piece, scrap the wax rotten and plant it, you have nought to lose. You must be somewhere in the SW as I in recent times go out contained by the desert, grab a stalk rotten a plant bring it home and stick it in the ground. If it doesn't grow only get one from HD or Lowe's. They are cheap adequate.
P.S. On occasion we put away cactus too. :-)
What you bought in the store isn't in actuality "yucca"; it's cassava root. It is called "yuca", and is pronounced "you-kuh". It is used contained by Cuban and Puerto Rican cooking.
Even if it did sprout, you'd be very disappointed beside the results if you were expecting a yucca plant..
