is it ok to plant new sod in the rain and/or with moist ground in minnesota?

It should be fine if the ground in moist. You don't want the ground to be so wet that you sink into it as you walk or you will not be able to get the sod flat. A cool, rainy day is actually better than a hot, sunny day

It's a great time. It seems the only time my boss gets sod in is on rainy days or fridays at 2 in the afternoon...we prefer the rainy days.
