Poison Ivy...?

How can I kill the poison ivy growing up/around our tree without harming the tree itself?

What about the poison ivy in the bamboo?

Answers:
roundup will generally not harm anything that has a hard woody bark, just avoid spraying in on any greenery, also if it is a large patch, I suggest brushing udiluted roundup on it.
Even when dead it will still give you a rash!

Ortho sells a poison ivy killer. Just spray it on the plant. You can get it at most garden stores or Home Depot.

when poison ivy is growing around and up a tree you can use round up to get rid of it, but i am not sure about bamboo
they sell it at any feed store, walmart, lowes, etc.
round up is powerful though so be careful what you spray it on, but it will not harm something as big as a tree
