Pruning a weeping birch tree.?

My weeping birch tree has grown so broad it has advanced into
my neighbours garden, how do I prune it posterior and at what time of the year do I do this, and avoid it bleeding. The books I have read pass scanty information and are contradictory. I would appreciate any suggestion thank you.

Answers:    Pruning:
Don't would be my advice - the shape is never relatively the same afterwards. The just exception would be to cut off late or damaged branches. If you necessitate to cut off more after really it's in the wrong place and I would ruminate about replacing it near something more suitable - you could always pilfer a cutting and plant another one somewhere else! For trunk pruning consult a professional who will be able tender you advice specific to your tree.
