You might want to think about having your yard leveled with dirt and sod..good luck

Why not install some above ground planting beds or container plants. Otherwise something needs to reduce the flow of water.

Sounds like u need to install an underground drainage system.
It sounds like the rain is causing the soil to erode and that is what is making the ruts in your yard. The best way to avoid this is to have plants in the soil, either groundcover or grass. The roots of the plants help keep the soil in place and prevent erosion from the rainwater.
go to Lowe's and study their drainage pipe to re direct the water and you might also need some gutter work.
make berms out of rocks or railroad ties or such where the water flows the fastest and divert it to another direction this will take time to figure out ,do it in the rain. then the berms will catch the dirt that is flowing with the water and build up higher, do the berms again and again when this happens, it will save your yard and elevate it at the same time.
do you have gutters?if not this is contributing to the problem.install some or where the water comes of the roofline, dig a trench 12 inches wide and 18 inches deep.fill with 3/4 stone of your color choice.you will have to fill in the existing ruts and reseed.make some flower bed with landscaping timder or large stones to break up the continuity of the landscape.good luck
