My lime tree (indoors) is blooming heavily, but also dropping about 4-5 leaves/day. Is this normal?

I bought a dwarf lime tree from a nursery about a month ago, it's in a great sunny, warm spot and seems to be doing fine. It has been blooming profusely for about two weeks, but I've noticed it's dropping a few leaves each day. They do not turn yellow first. I try to monitor the moisture with a meter and give it deep, infrequent waterings as the tag suggested. Is this normal during the blooming season, or is there something I could do to fix the problem?

Answers:
It's normal. I have a bunch of trees in my back yard and i also have one indoors. It happens to my trees as well. I do warn you, if the pedals of the flowers start to fall it's normal. Just be cearful that the whole flower dosn't fall off.
Since it's blooming heavily you should have quite a few limes there.
Keep an eye on that tree and if anything concerns you go back to the nursery and they should be able to help your or sometimes they will exchange them. Good luck!

I have a grapefruit tree (started from a seed now 15 yrs old) and have yet to see it bloom. Although lately I have noticed a fair amount of leaves dropping off, even with proper watering. Maybey it's just a change in the season or there may be some unknown reason that has yet to be identified. If you find out let me know.

friend u might not believe this but according to a latest research plants do need love as love demanded by every living existant..so some day while passing by that tree just touch its leaves with a soft touch..then see it will grow much faster...secondly most importantly look is its pot in which it grows should be bigger enough to support it...
1) tree is not happy
2) may still be in shock
3) too many blooms means it's got to drop leaves cause the nutients are being diverted to the blooms
4) Is your fertilizer the proper concentration
5) talk to your plant, tell him you love him and that he is beautiful.
