When is the best time to harvest and trim california citurs trees?

I live in the desert region and have several citurs trees on my property but I do not know when to harvest the fruit or when they should be pruned or fertilized. What is the best resorce for information about California citurs trees?

Answers:
Citrus can be pruned almost any time of year. Citrus trees do not need much pruning, just periodic pruning to control form and correct any errant branches or suckers.

It is best to begin fertilizing the trees in February. The last feeding should be in September or October. Do not feed during the winter since fertilizer can encourage tender new growth that is susceptible to damage in cold weather.

Sunset has a good book on fruit trees and HP books has a book on Citrus.
