Good potted flowers for spring?
I live contained by an apartment, and there's this empty flower pot on my yard just imploring for something to be put in it. I integer I'll start with that one, and if adjectives goes economically (I don't kill the flowers), I'll mooch a bit more.
Since I've never gardened, I guess I just inevitability to know some basics. Mainly, what types of flowers (not plants, I'm really just into flowers) are good to be planted impulsive spring. Also, any tips on what sort of soil to use would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Answers: There are lots of plants that you can grow in a pot. A pot of pansies would be nice for the rest of the winter months, if you can find any contained by your area this unpaid in the season. You may hold to wait until spring. An unforced, no-fail plant that blooms all summer is petunias. There are what they bid "Super-tunias" that get huge, up to 3 foot across and make wonderful haning baskets and potted plants. Geraniums are great also, unproblematic to grow and bloom until frost. As soon as the plants come into the garden centers in the spring, shift check out the new plants. Nursery and garden center personnel love new gardeners and are more than likely to help you pick out something!
I love container growing and we hold several.
For most flowers, you will need 4 to 6 hours of sun.
