Why isn't my mother contained by law tongue not producing flowers?
Answers: I have never have a Sanseviera bloom before, but a
friend have one bloom, it was around five years old, she repoted it as it grew latest plants and it finally ended up surrounded by a 5 gallon bucket with no holes at the bottom, seldom watered it had beer poured into contained by and had cigarettes put out contained by the soil, neglected, ignored and never fertilized or watered this plant thought it be dieing, when plants especially
tropicals are on their way to dieing they start producing flowers, flowers produce kernel, seed falls onto the ground and this plant have reproduced, and the mother plant lives or dies depending on watering situations. So you have to trick you snake plant into thinking it is going to die. You do that by giving it smaller amount water, you may lose a few leaves but you can propagate them. Question is are to consent to a few leaves dry up in direct to get a bloom. If you ever accomplish this deed and you grow a bloom, remember to fertilize extra, it takes seriously out of a plant nutrient wise when it produces a bloom, other fertilize you plants after they start blooming. I grow flowers for a living and would never neglect a plant close to my friend did, she wasn't even trying to grow a bloom, so neglect it to a point, conceivably a sip or two of beer may help. Good Luck to you. If you do receive a bloom save the pip and plant them, see if you can get any foreign babies that way.

You answered it yourself - anything involved near the words Mother-in-law ususally does not produce something as nice as flowers ;o)
I've been growing one contained by my house for over a dozen years and it has never flowered. I live contained by central Michigan and save it indoors year round. I love it because I can stick it in low street lamp areas in my living room. After for a time research, I found that sansevieria can in reality bloom, but after seeing a picture of the flower, I doubt its worth the effort surrounded by our climate. I have never see a snake plant (mother in law tounge) plant produce flowers before. i've taken two horticulture classes at my dignified school and here were other snake plants in in that.
I have have a mother-in-law tongue for over 20 years and I have never hear of them flowering before mine never have.
