If trees are planted on the property line, who do they belong to?

Answers:
half the tree belongs to you ...the other your neighbor... pray for lightning if you don't want it there... or if its a bradford pear...just wait for a storm it will split on its own...

Other answers:
Who planted them?
Who waters them?
I can tell you that if you call the city, county, state or recorders office to see. You might find that one of the agency will jump on this to make sure there is no problems. Make the call..

If the trees are directly on the dividing property line then they would be treated same as a fence. It would depend on the local authorities as too there ruling. What hangs over your side of the fence be it just tree or any fruit that it produces, i would consider that to be yours. same for your neighbour. If they are a pest and you want to remove them, i don't think you could take out your side (lol). Again a local authority would be able to let you know what can or cant be done with the trees. ie, if they are a good size you may not be able to remove them. I speak only on the rules or conditions that affect in my council area in Queensland Australia. Hope it helps
